The flying saucer Howard Johnson's in Asbury Park was saved, but it's no longer a HoJo's, & Glen resides in the town now, a few blocks away. This page was constructed on a dial up modem, which is why all the photos are small files.
These are all snapshots, the colors taken with a Yashica Zoomate 70. The black & whites were taken either with an old Canon I got in a rummage shop, or disposables. They were converted from color photos, & have lost some clarity from being moved about from pc to floppy to pc. Someday I'll scan in the original colors pix.
Summer's End Part One: Point Pleasant Beach, Labor Day weekend 02. Raw, windy, overcast, nasty weather, one of the few times I haven't enjoyed the boardwalk.
Plum Island: Sandy Hook, probably a late afternoon. in late Spring,
Keyport Fish Market: a personal fav photo, better in color . Keyport is a nice town with a little old fashioned diner, a couple of rummage shops, & wonderful harbor. The town is situated so that the sun seems to set in the Northeast.
Thunderclouds: These were passing over Woodbridge Center on a summer afternoon.
Hereford Inlet: North Wildwood, NJ (Anglesea). My favorite beach on the Jersey Shore. At low tide, wide sandbars reaching out into the inlet, tidal pools, the Victorian Anglesea lighthouse. At night, well, something else.
Kismet Motel: North Wildwood. A small, no frills. family-owned motor court a few blocks from the beach. I moved uptown to get near the inlet & away from the boardwalk, Haven't been there in a few years. Maybe this summer.
No Longer There: Jersey City, NJ. Looking East om Mongomery St. toward Hudson Rver & Ground Zero.
